BIDZ.Com Bidz.com selling fake jewelery listed as real - had it checked by a jeweler Culver City California

I recently won a bid for a 'Exquisite Bracelet w/ preciouse stones - Genuine Diamonds and Rubies made in Solid Yellow Gold'

Purchase Price $ 159.00
Supposed estimated value $1,199.00

I brought this to a jeweler to have it checked out I was told that the stones are either lab created or synthetic, that there was no way they were real.

I complained by phone and email to BIDZ.com w/ no response, they said someone would contact me in 72 hours.

I just sent almost 1-1/2 hrs online w/ their online customer service rep who told me that someone had contacted me it said so in her computer.. but I have not been conacted.. After about 45 minutes she finally gave me a return auth #. I asked repeatedly about the stones being fake to which she retorted - 'All items match their description' and ' I am sorry for the inconvience this situation has caused' I asked over and over again about the bracelet and she avoided my questions, Since my compliant i did notic that now it is listed as a 'Created Ruby' bracelet, so they obviously checked it out and know that the stones are fake but would not admit it to me.

She said I could send proof from the jeweler to get a full refund (which will cost me $40.00 to have it appraised and they will not refund that part)Supposedly someone is going to contact me on Monday regarding this. I am thinking about calling the local newscrew/newspaper and reporting them - also to the better business beauru & consumer protection. I am wondering about all the other people who bout supposed real jewelery from them that have no idea they paid a lot of money for junk.

I did have 2 other pieces checked at the jeweler that were indeed real and i am very happy w/ those but I told the customer sales rep how i felt ripped off, and that I thought they were doing a bait and switch - she ignored most of my questions/commments and acted like I never asked them. I guess w/ them it is a 'Buyer Beware' type of mentallity - It is really hard to get any type of appeasable resolution with them. How about sending me what I paid for.... A REAL Ruby Bracelet!!!!!!!!!!!

I did recieve a return authorization and after I have it properly appraised and reported I will return it (insured w/ a tracking #) for a refund - they better not hit me w/ a restocking fee for selling me junk. But someone has to report them, you should not be allowed to victimize consumers for a profit w/o so much as a sorry or actual retribution when you get caught out.
