JIC announces Gem Award honorees - JB News Feed

New York—The Jewelry Information Center (JIC) has announced that Signet Group Chief Executive Terry Burman will be honored with the 2008 JIC Gem Award for Lifetime Achievement at the organization's annual gala this January.

Burman, who is also chairman of Signet's U.S.-based division Sterling Jewelers, will be feted at a JIC gala event this winter that typically draws 600 jewelry industry members worldwide each year. The gala is scheduled for Jan. 11, 2008, at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan.

Another honoree, Bulgari, a leader in designer jewelry for more than 120 years, will be recognized for excellence in corporate communications and marketing. Roberta Naas, well-known for her reporting and writing on fine jewelry and watches, will receive the award for excellence in journalism.

In addition to honoring the recipients of the Gem Awards, the event celebrates JIC's tradition of more than 60 years of providing public relations and marketing services to the jewelry industry. The Gem Awards committee, made up of industry leaders, chooses the honorees each year. The co-chairmen of this year's Gem Awards committee are Steven Kaiser of Kaiser Time and John Green of Lux Bond and Green.
