Jeweler Opposes Online Sales Tax - By: Joyce Koballa
CONNELLSVILLE - A proposed sales tax bill that would allow states to require online merchants to collect sales tax from customers is unfair, according to a Connellsville businessman.
Joe Orszulak, owner of Kathryn's Jewelry on West Crawford Avenue, said the bill would hurt his business, not level the playing field as the bill's sponsor suggests.
"It would require everyone that sells on the Internet to collect and distribute sales taxes to the 45 states that have sales tax," said Orszulak.
