The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council has given Sanghavi Diamonds the award for the highest importer of cut and polished diamonds into the United States for fiscal year 2006-2007.

This is the second consecutive year Sanghavi Diamonds has won the honor.

The government of India Ministry of Commerce sponsors the award, which is presented to companies that have made outstanding contributions in their trade.

A ceremony took place in New Delhi, India, on Oct. 6, where Sanghavi Diamonds President Nitin Jobanputra accepted the award.

"To be the highest importer of cut and polished diamonds into the United States for the second consecutive year is undoubtedly a tribute to our outstanding customers," Jobanputra said in a media release. "Without them, this could not have happened. We will continue to work hard and support them. Thank you all very much."
