Students of fine metalworking at Hempfield High School are learning something old is sometimes better than something new.
Nathan Boring, a student art teacher at Hempfield, has begun participating a project called Radical Jewelry Makeover. In it, metal students discover recycled jewelry is good for the environment.
A national organization called Ethical Metalsmiths created Radical Jewelry Makeover as an opportunity for communities to generate unique merchandise by recycling and producing makeover jewelry.
