Chain-stores sales up in September - National Jeweler

New York—U.S. chain-store sales inched up 1.7 percent in September compared with the same period last year, according to the latest study by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

According to ICSC chief economist and director of research Michael P. Niemira, abnormally warm weather negatively impacted apparel sales during the period.
