Survey: Retailers should aim for 'green' Christmas
Consumers will look for more ways to be environmentally conscious this holiday season, according to Deloitte's 22nd Annual Holiday Survey of retail spending and trends.
The survey showed that 18 percent of consumers will purchase more eco-friendly products, 17 percent will shop at more "green" retailers, 27 percent will use fewer plastic bags and 20 percent are considering not wrapping gifts to conserve paper.
What this means for retailers is that being "green" can mean big business this holiday season.
Deloitte U.S. retail leader Stacy Janiak said 17 percent of consumers are willing to pay more for "green" gifts or supplies.
