In response to trade organizations urging the industry to cease using Burmese rubies due to the current human-rights situation in Myanmar (formerly Burma), Stuller Inc. has just launched an assortment of natural, untreated rubies from Madagascar.

"The assortment provides concerned jewelers and designers with an alternative to offer their customers," Joe Orlando, vice president of Stuller's gemstone business unit, said in a statement released today.
