System creates custom, duplicate pieces - JB News Feed

A Hixson jeweler is going high-tech and using a computer to make accurate reproductions of jewelry faster than traditional hand-carving. “There’s no limits to it,” said David Morgan, owner of Bench Vizion. “It’s light-years beyond traditional jewelers.” Mr. Morgan uses Gemvision 3-D Matrix software, a milling machine and camera to make custom jewelry at his store at 3901 Hixson Pike in Highland Plaza. The system and training cost $55,000, he said.
