Platinum continued to reach new highs Thursday as South African supply concerns deepen with the country’s power crisis. The precious metal hit a record $2,025 per ounce after having retreating to $2,009 in late trading across Europe Thursday morning, up 23 percent from its Wednesday close in New York. Platinum broke the $2,000 an ounce barrier for the first time late Wednesday.
