Charles & Colvard Reports 4Q Loss As Sales Drop 35%

Charles & Colvard Ltd.'s profits slipped into the red during its fiscal fourth quarter of 2007. The creator of moissanite reported sales fell 35 percent to $7.886 million. Charles & Colvard reported a net loss of $1.139 million, or 6-cents per share, whereas one year ago the firm reported a profit of $1.259 million. Marketing and sales expense ran 62 percent of net sales for the quarter ending December 31, 2007, up from 52 percent one year ago.
