Jewelry sales up at sea - National Jeweler
Bristol-based Harding Brothers, which operates shops on luxurious cruise ships such as the Queen Mary 2, the Queen Elizabeth 2 and the Queen Victoria, reports steadily increasing sales of fine jewelry and watches at sea.
"Last year, we saw a 25 percent increase in business, and we're expecting at least the same this year," Harding Brothers senior buyer Nelson Walker said in a media release. "This is partly due to the company expanding and taking on new ships, but is primarily down to the improvements in sales in existing shops. It's a combination of offering the right brands, targeting product to the location and employing salespeople who really know the business."
