Harry Winston Raises Reserve Estimate for Diavik

Harry Winston Diamond Corporation said Friday (March 14, 2008) it had higher reserves than initially projected at the Diavik Diamond Mine in Canada. The company, which owns 40 percent of Diavik in partnership with Rio Tinto, reported that the mine had 77.1 million carats of diamonds in reserve as of December 31, 2007, 23.6 million carats higher than its previous estimates. The mine's start-up reserve was estimated at 95 million carats but 41.5 million carats have already been recovered since commercial mining began in August 2003, the report stated.
