Brazen jewelry store robberies in Philipsburg, St. Maarten, during the past two months have local retailers on edge.  Two armed, masked men hit the Park Avenue diamond jewelry store yesterday on Front Street. The men smashed glass showcases and grabbed diamond jewelry before running out of the store. The robbery Thursday reportedly took place at high-noon, but the police response was 45-minutes later. The police told the island's Daily Herald they were too busy with case load to respond any sooner and this of course has upset the merchants on Front Street.
