Sterling Jewelers, parent company of Kay Jewelers, Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry and various regional brands, raised $16 million for the effort, part of Sterling's long-running partnership with St. Jude. In 1999, Sterling selected the children's hospital as its charity of choice. The newly designed Kay Kafe significantly expands upon the previous cafeteria's capacity and food service capabilities. Designed by architecture and design firm Roger Ferris and Partners, Kay Kafe holds approximately 500 people, serving up to 1,000 during a busy lunch hour.
