Whitehall settles discrimination suit

Whitehall Jewelers has reached a settlement in the discrimination case filed against it last year in which Sgereen Attia claimed she wasn't hired because she was wearing an Islamic head scarf, various news outlets are reporting. No details of the settlement are available but, as a result of the agreement, the Asian Law Caucus (ALC) and the law office of Minami Tamaki will dismiss its claims against Whitehall, according to a statement on the ALC Web site.
